THE ROAD TO EMMAUS VILLAGE HEBRAIC ROOTS OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH FROM MOSES TO MESSIAH |
EPISODE 6 – IS TORAH FOR CHRISTIANS? AND DO WE OBEY TORAH TO EARN OUR SALVATION?
Brethren, do you still think of Torah as Law saying that since we are no longer under
the Law, but under Grace, we do not have to obey G-d’s instructions and teachings?
Could this be the reason why many miss out on the promised blessings? Instead get
the promised curses listed in D’varim/Deuteronomy 28?
Torah is for Christians: 1. Because the Torah is G-d’s Word. 2. Because YESHUA, our Master and Prime Model whom we imitate, NOT MOSHE OR RABBI OR PASTOR SO AND SO, was Torah-observant and the Torah is all about Him. 3. Because His apostles and disciples were Torah-observant. Since they were all Jews, they knew the Torah and obeyed it, except the son of perdition. 4. Also, because Paul - Rav Shaul was raised a Torah observant Jew who studied under Rabbi Gamaliel in Jerusalem (Acts 22:3).
Yes, the Torah is for Christians who believe in YESHUA as the Messiah.
For many reasons, it is important, even vital for Christians to know and study the Torah as part of the full counsel of G-d, as not having been done away with, passé, out-dated or old.
Obeying Torah is not a means to earn our salvation –“For by grace we have been saved, through faith; and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of G-d; 9 not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We obey Torah because we LOVE G-D. WE have a love relationship with Abba through His Son Yeshua and by His Ruach Hakodesh, we live according to His standards because we love G-d with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our might, His way,
NOT TO EARN OUR SALVATION OUR WAY.
Do you have a dim view of our spiritual inheritance in the saints both in the Older
Testament and in the Newer Testament? Simply because we do not comprehend the mind of HaMaschiah who is the Living Torah?
It can mean a harrowing, roller coaster ride, up and down in our spiritual journey?
As against a blessed walk found in Devarim/Deuteronomy 5:33: “You shall walk in all the way which the L-RD your G-d has commanded you that you may live, that all may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”
In Segment 2, we have messianic rabbi Andrew Dinnerman explain to us this week’s parashah Behar-Bechukotai from Vayikra/Leviticus 25:1- 27:34.
And in Segment 3, messianic Jew Joshua Aaron of WorshipInIsrael.com share with us his songs and views on the parashah.
