"Jew & Gentile One in Messiah"

As it was in the beginning so it will be in the end-of-days

Yom Kippur in a Nutshell

Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year -- the day on which we are closest to G-d and to the quintessential core of our own souls. It is the "Day of Atonement" -- "For on this day He will forgive you, to purify you, that you be cleansed from all your sins before G-d" (Leviticus 16:30).

Heritage Builder Series 003

"Ten Days"

Lev 23:27  "However on the tenth day of this seventh month is Yom Kippur: it shall be a holy convocation to you, and you shall afflict yourselves; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.

This Holy day is the culmination of a Fifty day period starting with the Hebrew month of Elul and ending at the “Day of Atonement” Yom Kippur. The “Ten Days” of Awe are the period between Yom Terruah (Feast of Trumpets) and Yom Kippur. It is a fascinating time throughout history and even more so this year.

Something is  very interesting in Acts 1;

Act 1:3  To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about God ' s Kingdom.

Don’t you think it is interesting how the Messiah stayed with His Talmidim (Disciples) forty days and then a “Ten Day” waiting period? Find out some fascinating insights through the Lords Holy days for what is about to happen next!

Lev 23:26 The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,

Lev 23:27 "However on the tenth day of this seventh month is Yom Kippur: it shall be a holy convocation to you, and you shall afflict yourselves; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.

Lev 23:28 You shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is Yom Kippur, to make atonement for you before the LORD your God.

Lev 23:29 For whoever it is who shall not deny himself in that same day; shall be cut off from his people.

Lev 23:30 Whoever it is who does any manner of work in that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.

Lev 23:31 You shall do no manner of work: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Lev 23:32 It shall be a Shabbat of solemn rest for you, and you shall deny yourselves. In the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall keep your Shabbat."

In the Brit Hadasha

Heb 2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.

Heb 2:8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don't see all things subjected to him, yet.

Heb 2:9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Yeshua, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.

Heb 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Heb 2:11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,

Heb 2:12 saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise."

Heb 2:13 Again, "I will put my trust in him." Again, "Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me."

Heb 2:14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Heb 2:15 and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Heb 2:16 For most certainly, he doesn't give help to angels, but he gives help to the seed of Avraham.

Heb 2:17 Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful Kohen Gadol in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

Heb 2:18 For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

For twenty-six hours, from several minutes before sunset on Tishrei 9 to after nightfall on Tishrei 10, we "afflict our souls": women 12-years-old and up and men 13-years-old and up abstain from food and drink, do not wash or anoint our bodies, do not wear leather shoes, and abstain from marital relations.

Before Yom Kippur we perform the Kaparot atonement service, we ‘take’ honey cake, eat a festive meal, immerse in the Mikveh, and give extra charity. After afternoon Mincha prayers we eat the final meal at which we bless our children. We then change our shoes to non leather ones, light a memorial candle as well as the holiday candles and head to the synagogue for Kol Nidrei services.

In the course of the day we hold five prayer services: Maariv, with its solemn Kol Nidrei service, on the eve of Yom Kippur; Shacharit; Musaf, which includes a detailed account of the Temple service; Minchah, which includes the reading of the Book of Jonah; and Ne'illah, the "closing of the gates" service at sunset. We say the Al Chet confession of sins ten times, and recite Psalms every available moment.

The day is the most solemn of the year, yet an undertone of joy suffuses it: a joy that revels in the spirituality of the day and expresses the confidence that G-d will accept our repentance, forgive our sins, and seal our verdict for a year of life, health and happiness. When the closing Ne'illah service climaxes in the resounding cries of "Hear O Israel... G-d is one" and a single blast of the shofar, the joy erupts in song and dance, followed by the festive after-fast meal, making the evening following Yom Kippur a Yom Tov (festival) in its own right.

Mattiyahu/Mat

Vayikra/Leviticus

Corinthians

One candle

Rev 20:13  The sea gave up the dead in it; and Death and Sh'ol gave up the dead in them; and they were judged, each according to what he had done.

Rev 20:14  Then Death and Sh'ol were hurled into the lake of fire. This is the second death — the lake of fire.

Rev 20:15  Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was hurled into the lake of fire.

The Moadeem “Appointed times” of the King of the Universe. To be able and blessed to celebrate what Yeshua celebrated. What an honor and blessing for those who truly follow Messiah. Yom Kippurim is about entering into a special face to face meeting with “Our King”.

The day of Atonements, what is this fall holy day all about? Why does satan want you to forget about it? What is this book of life Yochanan was talking about in Rev. 20? Remember Yochanan was a Jew, writing to Jews and those gentile converts to Messianic Judaism. So if we allow our light inside us to forget the light and His ways, our day can come to a horrible end if you let your light be put out. Yom Kippurim is the final day of Teshuvah, the time of repentance. Learn what a truly incredible special day of Marriage Yom Kippurim is all about. Understand what rav. Sha’ul (Paul) was talking about in Corinthians when he said I will meet “Face to Face”. En inglés y español
