HB004 Shavuot 2013 “The Bread of life”
Lev 23:15 " 'From the day after the day of rest — that is, from the day you bring the sheaf for waving — you are to count seven full weeks,
Lev 23:16 until the day after the seventh week; you are to count fifty days; and then you are to present a new grain offering to Adonai.
Lev 23:17 You must bring bread from your homes for waving — two loaves made with one gallon of fine flour, baked with leaven — as firstfruits for Adonai.
Shavuot is a day we commit ourselves to a marriage. Marriage takes a lot of work. It requires Trust, Faithfulness, Covenant & Promises, Endurance & Perseverance, Responsibility & Servanthood, Friendship & Love. The feast of Shavuot as it is known in the bible is a holy day without a set date. It is a day that we finish counting the seven full weeks. It is a day we are commanded by God that each person bring bread from their own homes. Why does God want each person to bring bread from their homes. Sounds like a strange request. You will find this profound answer in the message. The Holy day was also a very special day for the talmidim/disciples. It was a day that all these Jewish men knew that they had to be in Jerusalem. It was a day that the contract was given once again to the whole world. Find out why they were speaking in languages (tongues) and what the purpose was for that day and what it means for us today.
