HB006 Yom Kippur 2013 “Written in the book”
Lev 23:28 You are not to do any kind of work on that day, because it is Yom-Kippur, to make atonement for you before Adonai your God.
Lev 23:29 Anyone who does not deny himself on that day is to be cut off from his people;
Lev 23:30 and anyone who does any kind of work on that day, I will destroy from among his people.
Lev 23:31 You are not to do any kind of work; it is a permanent regulation through all your generations, no matter where you live.
Yom Kippur atones only for sins between man and Yehovah, not for sins against another person. To atone for sins against another person, you must first seek reconciliation with that person, righting the wrongs you committed against them if possible. That must all be done before Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is a day for reconciliation. It is a day Yehovah called all people both Jew and Gentile to celebrate in a very special way. What is reconciliation?
Reconciliation
1. The act of reconciling parties at variance; renewal of friendship after disagreement or enmity. Reconciliation and friendship with God really form the basis of all rational and true enjoyment.
2. In Scripture, the means by which sinners are reconciled and brought into a state of favor with God, after natural estrangement or enmity; the atonement; expiation.
If this is the true meaning of reconciliation, who would be the one not wanting all peoples Jew and Gentile to celebrate this incredible Holy Day commanded in Scripture…it certainly would not be God.
Come and experience Yom Kippur, discover what true reconciliation with Yehovah is truly all about.
