Scripture: Sh’mot (Ex.) 12:15-20

SYNOPSIS: This is a mysterious holy day. There is not much written about the 7^th day of Hag Matzah. So why would YEHOVAH desire for us to gather on the 7^th day of Hag Matzah? The key is found in the study of the number 7 and 21.

Sh’mot (Ex) 12:15-20 first and seventh days.

Exo 12:16  On the first and seventh days, you are to have an assembly set aside for God. On these days no work is to be done, except what each must do to prepare his food; you may do only that.

In the Hebrew, 7 is shevah. It is from the root savah, to be full or satisfied, have enough of. Hence the meaning of the word "seven" is dominated by this root, for on the seventh day God rested from the work of Creation. It was full and complete, and good and perfect.

In the creative works of God, seven completes the colors of the spectrum and rainbow, and satisfies in music the notes of the scale. colors in order Red - Orange - Yellow - Green - Blue - Indigo -Violet (ROY G BIV). In each of these the eighth is only a repetition of the first.

Exo 21:2  "If you purchase a Hebrew slave, he is to work six years; but in the seventh, he is to be given his freedom without having to pay anything.

Sh’mot (Ex) 31:17 the sign.

Exo 31:17  It is a sign between me and the people of Isra'el forever; for in six days Adonai made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he stopped working and rested.' "

Vayikra (Lev) 13:27, 32, 34, 51, 14:9 Examine.

Lev_13:27  On the seventh day the cohen is to examine him; if it has spread on the skin, then the cohen is to declare him unclean; it is a sore from tzara`at.

Lev_13:32  On the seventh day the cohen is to examine the sore, and if he sees that the crusted area hasn't spread, that it has no yellow hair in it, and that the crusted area is not deeper than the skin around it;

Lev_13:34  On the seventh day the cohen is to examine the crusted area; and if he sees that the crusted area has not spread on the skin and does not appear to be deeper than the skin around it, then the cohen is to declare him clean; he is to wash his clothes and be clean.

Lev_13:51  On the seventh day he is to examine the stain; if the stain has spread on the garment, threads, woven-in parts or leather, whatever its use, the infection is a contagious tzara`at; the garment is unclean.

Lev_14:9  On the seventh day he is to shave all the hair off his head, also his beard and eyebrows — he must shave off all his hair; and he is to wash his clothes and bathe his body in water; and he will be clean.

D’varim (Deut) 15:9 Guard yourself.

Deu 15:9  Guard yourself against allowing your heart to entertain the mean-spirited thought that because the seventh year, the year of sh'mittah is at hand, you would be stingy toward your needy brother and not give him anything; for then he may cry out to Adonai against you, and it will be your sin.   

Sh’mot (Ex) 12:16.
