The Unleavened Bikkurim
Joh 20:1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Miryam from Magdala went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.
Joh 20:2 So she came running to Shim’on Kefa [Peter] and the other talmid [disciple], the one Yeshua loved, and said to them, “They’re taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him!”
Joh 20:3 Then Kefa and the other talmid started for the tomb.
Joh 20:4 They both ran, but the other talmid outran Kefa and reached the tomb first.
Joh 20:5 Stooping down, he saw the linen burial-sheets lying there but did not go in.
Joh 20:6 Then, following him, Shim’on Kefa arrived, entered the tomb and saw the burial-sheets lying there ,
Joh 20:7 also the cloth that had been around his head, lying not with the sheets but in a separate place and still folded up.
When did this event happen? Right, on the first day of the week. However, was this just any Sunday? Remember Yeshua ate Pesach (Passover), had his trials on the feast of Matzah (unleavened bread), and had to be in the grave for three days. It was Shabbat (Sabbath) so Miryam had to wait until sundown so it could become the next day. What was so special about this Sunday?
Lev. 23:10 “Tell the people of Isre’el, ‘After you enter the land I am giving you and harvest its ripe crops, you are to bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the cohen.
Lev. 23:11 He is to wave the shead before Adonai, so that you will be accepted; the cohen is to wave it on the day after the Shabbat.
As to why more people, that call ‘Jesus’ their Lord, prefer to celebrate a bunny laying eggs than Yom Bikkurim (day of firstfruits) completely baffles me. This Sunday is to be commemorated on its proper ordained day, not every week as a mask for not changing pagan traditions of worshipping a sun god, but once a year on its proper day with its true meaning. Why did Yeshua raise on this particular Sunday? How does Yeshua, some Jew’s death and resurrection redeem me? How can His death make me acceptable to God? Find out…
