502 WHAT IS REAL TESHUVAH
Luke 15:11-21
SYNOPSIS: What does real Teshuvah mean? Come to think of it what does Teshuvah mean, I need to know what Teshuvah means before I can have real Teshuvah. The word “shuv” means to return, to turn back (to God), repent. The prefix Te means you. There is a theme of Teshuvah that runs through the Torah and deeply into the Prophets. We see Yehovah with amazing grace and mercy if we His people would just stop and turn back. What is so amazing this concept this heart of the Father was transferred to His Son Yeshua and “Teshuvah” was Yeshua’s whole ministry. See how the conclusion comes together in 5 of the letters in the book of Revelation.
SECTION 1: The Teshuvah understanding of the prodigal son. Yeshua uses this illustration of the prodigal son for Israel but even more so for the body of Messiah living today. See how this heart of entitlement almost gets the young man killed. See how this attitude of heresy cost the son everything. See how this attitude of “I know everything” made him walk in the desert back to a forgiving father. See how this Brit Hadasha scripture was already spoken of in the Torah.
SECTION 2: THE PROPHETS FORETOLD. Let us look at the diamond. Teshuvah is a predominate theme in the prophets. We will look at 5 of the prophets to see the theme of Teshuvah. We will discover hard lessons that have happened and harder lessons to come. Yehovah does nothing in secret for Messiah said “if the days had not been cut short” the key to understanding this is found in Teshuvah.
SECTION 3: 5 OF THE LETTERS IN REVELATION. Four letters speak of Teshuvah and one directly speaks about the “10 days of awe” between Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur. The theme of Teshuvah was given to the talmidim understand what Teshuvah is before it is too late.
