605 Becoming part of the true vine

 

Vayikra (Lev) 23:24-27

 

SYNOPSIS: Yeshua speaks about becoming part of the one true vine. What does this statement mean biblically. In Yochanan (Jn) 15 we will explore this chapter that speaks of hatred for no apparent reason. We will explore the world loving its own and hating the vine and the vinedresser. We will explore true biblical friendship. We will explore legalism compared to what Yeshua’s definition of friendship is.

 

THEME 1: TEN DAYS AND ONE SHABBAT. There is a time period between Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur of 10 days. What is the purpose of those ten days? Vayikra (Lev) 23:24-27 why the ten days between holy convocations

Lev 23:23  Adonai said to Moshe, Lev 23:24  "Tell the people of Isra'el, 'In the seventh month, the first of the month is to be for you a day of complete rest for remembering, a holy convocation announced with blasts on the shofar. Lev 23:25  Do not do any kind of ordinary work, and bring an offering made by fire to Adonai.' " Lev 23:26  Adonai said to Moshe, Lev 23:27  "The tenth day of this seventh month is Yom-Kippur; you are to have a holy convocation, you are to deny yourselves, and you are to bring an offering made by fire to Adonai.

 

Mattiyahu (Mat) 5:23-24 doing things Yehovah’s way

Mat 5:23  So if you are offering your gift at the Temple altar and you remember there that your brother has something against you, Mat 5:24  leave your gift where it is by the altar, and go, make peace with your brother. Then come back and offer your gift.

 

 

In V23 it has four topics in the sentence

 

1 is your gift at His altar  2 remember 3 your brother  4 against you

Joh 15:19  If you belonged to the world, the world would have loved its own. But because you do not belong to the world — on the contrary, I have picked you out of the world — therefore the world hates you.

Joh 15:25  But this has happened in order to fulfill the words in their Torah which read, 'They hated me for no reason at all.'

Joh 15:8  This is how my Father is glorified — in your bearing much fruit; this is how you will prove to be my talmidim.

First key word is the word vine  G288  ἄμπελος  ampelos am'-pel-os a vine (as coiling about a support): - vine.
